Anthony Crich, 15, is someone who decides quietly to ‘do things’, working away in the background, never in the spotlight. Anthony is a role model in his local community of East Durham.
Inspired by his own experience of attending the SVP holiday camp as a child, he now helps out at the Camp giving up his weekends to care for younger children. Within school, Anthony has looked out for those less fortunate than himself. During Advent he took a lead with an appeal for the FEED project, personally collecting over 1000's tins from his own village and local community. He encouraged the school management to allow him to encourage staff to highlight the work of the project. In his own time he set up a collection point in this own community – encouraging them to help the food bank.
His chaplain said “In all the time I have known Anthony, he has never ceased to surprise me. His thoughtfulness towards others and willingness to put others before himself, makes him a living inspiration to everyone in our community.”
