CELEBRATING YOUNG PEOPLE AWARDS 2022 FAQs

What’s the age limit to be nominated for an award?

For the 6 youth awards, the age guidelines are 11-25 years old.
For the CYMFED and Rutilio Grande & Companions award, there is no age limit!

Can I nominate a group of young people?

Yes! We welcome nominations for groups up to a maximum of four young people.
If your group is larger than this, get in touch with us for a chat on awards@millionminutes.org

If I previously applied for a Blessed Pier Award, will my nomination be considered in these national awards?

Yes, every nomination that is entered will be automatically considered for our national awards. We may ask you for more information. If you’re unsure, get in touch with us.

Can I nominate someone for something that they did a few years ago?

The nomination should be for promoting the common good that has taken place in the last year and hasn’t previously been recognised with an award from Million Minutes. We also advise that the individual or group should not already have been recognised through another award scheme, as the intention of this award is to celebrate people who may otherwise not be celebrated.

Does the young person have to be Catholic?

No, the young person you are nominating does not have to be Catholic, but the nomination should come from within the Catholic community in England and Wales.

How will the young person(s) be recognised?

All nominees will be recognised in a booklet which will be made digitally available from July. Winners of the Awards will be selected to attend in person at the Houses of Parliament in July. Runners up may also be invited to attend, or join via live stream. All those nominated will receive a certificate in recognition.

When will I know the outcome of the nomination?

Nominees will be informed in June as to the outcome of their nomination, once judging panels have met.

When do nominations close?

Nominations close on the 15th of May at 8pm, to allow enough time for our judging panels to meet and consider each application.
