Events of 2020, including COVID-19, the ongoing climate crisis, and the Black Lives Matter movement, have exposed deep rooted and systematic inequalities in our society. It is time for healing and transformation, time to build a fairer, more equal and sustainable world, so that we may look ahead with hope.

Pope Francis calls us to ‘prepare the future’ now, and not passively ‘prepare for the future’ created by others. Young people are prophets of change, lights of hope in today’s world and can help lead us all in creating the future we desire.  In youth ministry it is our role to accompany them on this journey and help them envision, and create, tomorrow’s world today. We can ‘build back better’ for communities, families and for God’s creation.

What is it?

This resource, made up of 12 units, includes reflections, questions for discussion, prayers and useful links. We hope it will help educators and youth ministers in their work, supporting young people to collectively reflect on what has happened and what lies ahead, keeping the Gospel as our source of hope and inspiration.

Please feel free to use the resource however is best for your young people. Over the next weeks we will continue to develop it and would welcome additional relevant resources, such as video or PowerPoint presentations. Sign up to receive updates.
