Million Minutes young adult committee
FAQs:
Is it free?
All transport costs are covered by Million Minutes (once we meet in person!) so it’s free to join.
Who can apply?
If you’re a Catholic in England and Wales, aged between 16-25 years of age, and share Million Minutes’ passion for Catholic Social Teaching, and ensuring all young people are at the heart of the Church, then we want to hear from you!
Why get involved?
We hope that our first Advisory Group will provide participants with a great sense of personal reward, being able to see the change from your involvement over time. It's a great opportunity to meet other young people, build confidence and learn new skills. Volunteering with us in this capacity is also a great addition to job or college applications, and can help build leadership skills.
What does Million Minutes do?

What will the group do?
The Group will help Million Minutes’ staff team ensure that our work is relevant to the experiences of Catholic young people. The Group will be advisory, rather than decision-making, but will certainly help shape and build Million Minutes’ work, which is often with those with ‘secondary’ contact with young people. We’d like to hear what you care about and what you feel the Church needs to do to ensure all young people are truly at its heart.
Why is Million Minutes launching this now?
In 2021, Million Minutes turns ten years old – and we’ve learned a lot in that time. One of the lessons we’ve learned is that we really want to hear more directly from young people and young adults with a lived experience of being Catholic.
What are the commitment requirements:
Young people to join as a committee for max two hours every 4 months (meetings can take place late afternoon/early evening – or at a time that’s convenient for everyone).
DBS/Safeguarding check
Some preparatory reading may be required before each meeting
Committee members to take it in turns to write up minutes from the meeting
1 committee member every quarterly meeting to write a blog post on their experience
Million Minutes staff will sit in on these meetings – and the meetings will be Chaired either by a Trustee or the Director. Conclusions, discussions and recommendations will be reflected back to the team at Million Minutes and to Trustees where relevant.
How do I apply?
