St. Josephine Bakhita Award Recipient for celebrating human dignity
Emma is 16 and from St John Fisher Church, North London. Emma believes that everyone should be given an opportunity to be part of normal parish life and so goes out of her way to make those who have a disability, lack confidence or have not yet got the learning skills required to join in, are given every opportunity to be part of the parish groups. Three years ago Emma started training the younger servers. Emma's faith is important to her and she works hard at putting social justice into practice. She is especially involved inthe parish food banks.
Emma demonstrates the gospel values simply in the way she goes about her life. This means we have a very happy group of young people who often ask “can they do what Emma does”. Her happy outlook on life and her concern for others rubs off on to those around her.
