Joseph Cardijn Award Recipient for protecting the dignity of workers
Scott is 20 worked on numerous initiatives during his time studying at Aquinas College in Stockport. Now a student at Newcastle University, he has taken on the role of Scrutiny Officer, with responsibilities to review the performance of the student union officers and the trustee board. He strives to ensure things are done well and for things which will make the life of students better. Scott’s real passion is teaching people. It is something he has always wanted to do and he regularly goes into schools in his role as a university student ambassador, promoting the university to local schools. He approaches all these roles, whether paid or unpaid, the same. He says there is no point doing a job if you’re not going to do it well. He enjoys working and making a difference in people’s lives. Scott’s quiet leadership style is already making a positive difference to a lot of people.
