From the minute Amelia Manning walked into school two years ago, she was determined to make an impact. What marks Amelia out is how she relates to others: she is immensely empathic, warm, approachable and helpful. With every encounter she enacts the Gospel, “Just as much as I have loved you, you must also love one another.”
She was awarded the position of Head of Brownlow House, a role she took very seriously. On top of this she has trained as a peer mentor, making sure that students are organized, happy and communicating well, even acting as a confidante for several students with complex issues. Amelia is a skilled leader, as others are drawn to her warmth, infectious enthusiasm and passion.
Her headteacher said of Amelia, “she embodies what it means to be a student of Prior Park and having been here for less than two short years, has made a deep impression on this school. I personally will treasure memories of Amelia Manning for years to come. This award would show Amelia, and others, that kindness, love and hard work do not go unnoticed.”
