Jacob Raju (17), Molly Garber (16), Patrick McGeehan-Miller (14), Liv Smith (14) are from a Justice and Peace Youth Group in Liverpool. The group’s motto is to do 'little things with great love' because they do many small activities full of love such as sponsored walks, Christmas shoeboxes, bughouses for the environment, table sales to raise money for their sister parish in Zimbabwe and more, because, they say, “because we are still young”!
The group share fun, faith and friendship in a Christian community that wants to live out the most important Gospel message 'Love God and love your neighbour'. They help the 'oldies' in the parish community to get involved by asking them to help with their activities. They also lead worship in their parishes sometimes to show that even though they are young, they love God and can make a difference. Jacob, Molly, Patrick and Liv hope to empower other young people to see that they can make a difference and lots of other young people have joined their group.
Their youth worker said of the group “It would be wonderful for the group to be recognised for their efforts and the fact they stand up for others. We are trying to empower them to realise that they can make a difference and this award would be testimony to their efforts.”
