The Logo for Adventurous Accompaniment: Two Silhouetted people standing in front of a mountain range

Million Minutes has been exploring how the Church might be initiated into the ‘art of accompaniment’ with support from the Benedictines, the Jesuits in Britain, Synod Fruits, and other friends including David Wells, Amy Cameron, and Aseel Gilbert. We’ve involved nearly 300 people over the last two years to explore experiences of accompaniment and developing our learning. We are now offering events to share this learning and follow up resources, designed to help us all to encourage and support a culture of genuine accompaniment in our communities.

“WE NEED A CHURCH CAPABLE OF WALKING AT PEOPLE’S SIDE…
A CHURCH WHICH ACCOMPANIES THEM ON THEIR JOURNEY.”
- Pope Francis.

 What We Offer

Million Minutes offer an accompanied process to dioceses, organisations, religious communities, parishes, and groups. We will support partners who wish to explore the principles of Adventurous Accompaniment with their community. We journey with the leadership team, working with them to enable potential key people and offer a range of training, resources, and support to the whole community.

We co-create an accompaniment process with each partner:

  • We will work alongside you and your team, enabling your community to explore accompaniment together.

  • We provide face-to-face training events, video and online resources; equipping people from across your community to be advocates for accompaniment in the Church.

  • Resourcing advocates for accompaniment with high-quality resources to use with others in their parishes and communities.

  • Everyone is encouraged to participate in a national ‘community of accompaniers’, sharing experiences, learning, and growing together.

Summer School 2023

In July 2023, we hosted a ‘Summer School’ event in the inspiring Douai Abbey. We invited people from various backgrounds and professions to explore the principles of Adventurous Accompaniment, their relevance, and their potential practical application in our Church mission today.

Check out some photos from the event below!
